Your Role and Responsibilities:

Xanadu is an industry leader in the burgeoning area of quantum software. As a Full-Stack Web Developer, you will help build and maintain our PennyLane and Xanadu web properties. The goal of PennyLane is to provide researchers in the quantum computing space with a set of tools and algorithms for research and development against quantum hardware devices and simulators. You will:

  • Develop, maintain, and expand pennylane.ai and other web applications using the latest web technologies. (React, Next.js, GraphQL, Python).
  • Build and maintain pipelines to enable Xanadu’s technical writers and developers to deploy educational and technical content to our sites.
  • Design, build, and maintain a solid set of APIs for consumption by internal and external services and web front ends.
  • Ensure robust design and implementation of these web interfaces across mobile and desktop devices.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to drive forward the product roadmap and build great experiences for our users.
  • Take a technical leadership role and own a significant part of the domain.
  • Ensure high-quality production code by maintaining automated test coverage and a dynamic code review process.
  • Perform DevOps tasks, such as building and maintaining our CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficient in modern development languages (Python or similar).
  • Proficient in web technologies such as JavaScript, Typescript, and React.
  • Experience working with relational databases (Postgres or similar).
  • Experience using git/GitHub.
  • Product-minded approach to software development.
  • Self-driven to deliver high-quality solutions to our users.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Experience with Gatsby, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience with OIDC and OAuth2.0.
  • Experience with Internationalization and web accessibility.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Turbo.
  • Experience using Docker and deploying to cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
