About the Senior Manager, AI Upskilling & Adoption:
This is a key role on a future-focused team: perfect for someone who’s energized by demystifying technology, loves designing engaging learning experiences, and takes pride in helping people and organizations use AI with confidence and clarity. You’ll lead VFC’s AI education and adoption portfolio - creating hands-on workshops and case studies, embedding AI skill-building into existing programs, and supporting small businesses as they explore practical, responsible use cases. You’ll work closely with partners across the AI ecosystem to co-create learning resources and pilot projects nationally, while also helping VFC staff deepen their own AI capabilities and integrate new tools into daily workflows. And as a representative of VFC in national conversations about AI and the future of work, you’ll contribute to reports, case studies, and thought leadership that strengthen Canada’s capacity for ethical, accessible, and innovation-driven AI adoption.
Role Responsibilities:
AI Upskilling & Program Integration
- Design and deliver AI learning modules, workshops, and hands-on activities for program participants.
- Embed AI upskilling and skill-building into existing programs and curriculum activities.
- Explain AI concepts in clear, practical ways for people without technical backgrounds.
- Collect feedback from learners and continuously improve training content.
AI Adoption for Businesses, SMEs & Startups
- Identify and be able to deploy practical AI use cases in business and SME contexts, through discovery sessions, simple workflow mapping, or pilot scoping.
- Create, run and scale AI adoption pilots in collaboration with partner organizations.
- Support organizations in using AI tools responsibly and effectively.
- Ensure a balance of experimentation with responsible AI practices.
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with AI companies, labs, universities and innovation partners.
- Work with partners to develop learning resources, workshops or pilot projects.
Collaborate on Internal AI Training & Support
- Work with our tech team to continue to upskill VFC staff on the use of AI in their work.
- Collaborate with our tech team in greater integration of AI tools in VFC’s infrastructure.
- Share best practices for responsible and ethical AI use.
Content & Representation
- Support development of reports, case studies, and resources on AI upskilling and adoption in Canada.
- Represent the organization at events or discussions about AI education and the future of work.
Role Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a tech-related field, education, training, or a role involving digital or AI tools.
- A strong understanding of generative AI tools and how they can be used in business contexts.
- Experience in AI adoption, digital skills training, or helping others learn new technology.
- Experience designing learning materials, workshops, or training for adults or young professionals.
- Experience managing projects or partnerships across teams or organizations.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
- Curiosity, creativity, and comfort working in a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

- Experience creating or integrating AI tools or agents using platforms like OpenAI, Claude, or similar LLM systems.
