The Director, Business Systems & IT is responsible for driving forward the business systems IT and cybersecurity strategy to support the corporate strategic plan. The Director develops IT policies, manages budgets, oversees cybersecurity, and leads teams in designing, implementing, and supporting business systems. The Director establishes the technology architecture and standards for business systems to facilitate the flow of operational data with scalable and dynamic processes that can rapidly evolve to meet changing business requirements.
What you will do:
Leadership & Management
- Define business system architecture and technology standards for a multi-platform, best of breed landscape
- Serve as the business partner to other senior leaders, collaborating to facilitate and implement solutions
- Mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team to support their professional growth and career development
- Monitor operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Manage the technology budget to optimize technology investments
- Stay current in the emerging technology trends to inform the business strategy
Enterprise Applications & Systems
- Oversee the enterprise applications and systems operations and lifecycle
- Assess and develop technology roadmaps to support business growth and efficiency
- Align application roadmaps with enterprise architecture standards, compliance and security
- Architect robust, scalable solutions to meet business needs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes, reduce workarounds, and implement best practices
- Negotiate with and manage relationships with technology vendors
- Oversee budget and staffing requirements, including use of external contractors or vendors
System Administration & IT Support
- Manage daily IT operations, including systems, networks, and hardware/software support.
- Manage IT staff, including continuous learning and development plans
- Develop technical specifications, and ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
- Oversee the functionality, security, and maintenance of critical enterprise applications.
- Provision, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services for business systems (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
Cybersecurity
- Develop, implement and maintain the organization's cybersecurity strategy, policies and procedures
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Lead response efforts, including detection, containment, investigation, and recovery
- Manage security personnel, security budgets, and third-party vendor relationships
We want you to succeed, so you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience as a technology leader with demonstrated success in strategic planning and execution
- Progressive responsibility managing technology operations for global operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience building and executing technology roadmaps, which include enterprise applications, data management and information security
- Experience managing ioS, Windows, Android and Linux operating systems
- Experience managing SaaS business applications, ERP platforms and integration
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams, guiding digital business transformation
Salary range: $165,000 to $180,000 per year
We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
