Key Responsibilities:
- Support Cloud Operations: Assist with day-to-day operations of our Azure and GCP environments, including services, networking and access controls, ensuring reliability and security.
- Assist with EHR Integrations: Help troubleshoot routing and firewall issues, coordinate with external hospital IT teams, and support ongoing connectivity work.
- Monitor and Triage Security Signals: Review cloud security posture findings, triage endpoint detection alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and assist with remediation.
- Assist with Identity & Access Monitoring: Help review identity and access alerts, gather context, and escalate anomalies for the team to investigate.
- Support Security Operations: Help with access reviews, log gathering, vulnerability tracking, and other routine security operations tasks under guidance.
- Communicate Effectively: Regularly update the team on progress, surface blockers early, and contribute to discussions about how we can improve our operational processes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on exposure to at least one major cloud provider (GCP or Azure preferred; or AWS)
- Comfort with Linux and command-line environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, VPN, routing, and firewalls
- Exposure to core security concepts: IAM, logging and audit trails, common attack patterns, and basic incident response
- Familiarity with version control (Github) and ticketing/agile tools (JIRA)
- 2+ years of work experience with software engineering with a focus on security and networking
- Exposure to security fundamentals (OWASP top 10), and experience using penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and static/dynamic code analysis tools
- Nice to have: Security in the context of deploying AI systems and usage of AI to identify risks
- Interest in Healthcare: A passion for healthcare innovation and interest in the operational and security challenges of running clinical software at scale.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including external IT teams.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Curious and resourceful approach to investigating unfamiliar systems and unclear signals. Side projects or homelab work that demonstrate hands-on interest are great to share.
- Comfort with AI Tools: Familiarity with using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) as part of your workflow, with a sense of where they help and where they don't.
- Regulated Environment Exposure: Any experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, or other compliance frameworks is a plus.
- Bonus Tools & Platforms: Exposure to cloud security posture tools, EDR/endpoint protection platforms, SIEM workflows, or Pulumi/IaC.
- Team-Oriented: Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Compensation
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
