Scribendi is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the highest levels of software quality and reliability. By employing rigorous testing methodologies, you will enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality of our development process and final products.

This role is being offered as remote or hybrid with our head office based in Chatham, ON.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or another related field
• Proficiency in various testing techniques, such as functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP) and frameworks
• Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLCs) and QA methodologies
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing tools and techniques
• Analytical mindset
• High attention to detail
• Clear written communication skills
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Located in and authorized to work in Canada

What you will do

1. Work as a QA Engineer on the Engineering team and participate in Scrum ceremonies.

2. Ensure products meet or exceed user expectations.

3. Increase the velocity of the development process through testing methodologies.

4. Optimize the SDLC to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.

5. Enhance the quality and reliability of our products.

6. Document test cases, defects, and test reports.

7. Effectively identify, reproduce, and report bugs.

8. Identify and assess obvious risks and test edge cases.

9. Analyze specifications and technical documentation to ensure thorough testing.

10. Collaborate with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
