About the Role:

The Analyst, Tax will support the Corporate Tax function in Canadian tax compliance, international tax reporting, and related tax analysis. This role assists with the preparation of corporate income tax filings, foreign affiliate reporting, and tax provision support, while gaining exposure to international tax matters within a global organization. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors, the position contributes to maintaining compliance with Canadian tax regulations and supports the tax reporting obligations of a multinational public company operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2), provincial filings, and information returns (T106, T1134, NR4, and other CRA schedules).

  • Support transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking studies, and intercompany transaction analysis.

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.

  • Assist in preparing tax provisions and supporting analysis for quarterly and annual reporting.

  • Support tax instalment calculations, cash tax forecasts, and tax account reconciliations.

  • Maintain SOX-compliant documentation, internal controls, and supporting evidence.

  • Assist with CRA tax audits, including documentation gathering and responses to information requests.

  • Analyze and respond to audit queries from tax authorities and external auditors.

  • Conduct technical tax research on Canadian and international tax matters.

  • Support tax planning initiatives, including cross-border transactions and structuring.

  • Assist with tax forecasting and business planning initiatives.

  • Maintain organized tax working papers and documentation.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Treasury teams on tax matters.

  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function.

  • Contribute to ad hoc tax projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA designation (completed or in progress) or equivalent professional qualification preferred

  • 2–3 years of corporate tax experience, ideally in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier) and/or a multinational corporation.

  • Experience with Canadian corporate income tax compliance.

  • Experience preparing T2, T106, and T1134 filings preferred.

  • Exposure to international tax, foreign affiliate reporting, or transfer pricing is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Income Tax Act and corporate tax requirements.

  • Familiarity with IFRS tax reporting is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Experience with tax preparation software and SAP ERP systems is an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$76,142.00 / 76.142,00$ - $95,177.00 / 95.177,00$ (per year / par an) Final pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and the geographic location of the role.
