About the Role


We are seeking a Privacy Compliance and Governance Manager to lead our Global Privacy Compliance Program. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders across the company, including Technology, Legal, Strategy & Innovation, and Marketing. In addition to managing our privacy program, your expertise will support and enhance IMAX’s broader governance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and monitor the development and implementation of a robust program for IMAX’s privacy policies and practices

  • Manage information security governance programs

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple IMAX business units

  • Serve as the in-house liaison with external privacy software providers

  • Process and log data subject access requests

  • Ensure compliance with internal information security and privacy policies, and drive the implementation of controls supporting evolving data protection and privacy laws and regulations

  • Evaluate internal policies and procedures related to privacy and personal data, conduct risk assessments, and recommend improvements

  • Scale IMAX’s privacy compliance and governance framework globally

  • Drive continuous improvement of IMAX’s privacy and governance practices, working closely with Technology, Legal, Strategy & Innovation, and Marketing teams

  • Develop and deliver periodic privacy training programs across the company

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in privacy compliance, risk management, and governance

  • Data protection certifications are a plus (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM)

  • Certification in information security governance is an asset

  • Experience with domestic and global privacy and data security regulations, including GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, Section 5 of the FTC Act, anti-spam laws, cookie regulations, and CCPA/CPRA

  • Knowledge of privacy and data security laws in Canada, the U.S. (federal and state), and internationally, including awareness of recent developments

  • Strong understanding of information security controls (e.g., ISO 27001)

  • Experience preparing reports and presentations for executive audiences

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority

  • Highly motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work proactively and independently

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex, multifaceted issues clearly to diverse stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented, business-minded, and a collaborative team player with the ability to think creatively while meeting tight deadlines and business objectives

  • Passionate about privacy and committed to upholding strong privacy principles

  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$87,628.00 / 87.628,00$ - $109,535.00 / 109.535,00$ (per year / par an) Final pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and the geographic location of the role.
