About the Role

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about managing accounts receivable functions and has a knack for negotiating with past due clients. You’ll focus on maintaining and reconciling the accounts receivable ledger, preparing management reports, and ensuring compliance with SOX and other internal policies. This role involves leading AR analysis and reporting meetings, overseeing billing and cash receipt posting, and managing month-end closing and reconciliation. You will also handle escalations of routine and non-routine AR issues along with the AR Manager and develop strong relationships with clients to ensure efficient collections and proactive communication.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute all accounts receivable functions including collection efforts and negotiating with past due clients

  • Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable ledger and prepare management reports, including reports of delinquent accounts

  • Manage various local and national audit projects to ensure compliance with SOX and other internal policies

  • Manage complex AR portfolios and intercompany reconciliations

  • Lead AR analysis and reporting meetings

  • Oversee billing, theatre invoicing, and cash receipt posting

  • Enforce payment terms and payment policies with IMAX’s clients

  • Manage month-end closing, reconciliation, and reporting

  • Approve credit memos, theatre adjustments, and journal entries

  • Oversee financial and SOX-related audits

  • Handle escalations of routine and non-routine AR issues along with the AR Manager

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring efficient collections and proactive communication

  • Liaise with internal and external business partners and senior management across regions

  • Recommend improvements to AR procedures and operations

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Minimum of 5 years of AR experience, including managing complex and non-routine transactions with limited supervision

  • Experience and familiarity with managing AR metrics and KPIs, such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Average Days Delinquent (ADD), to drive financial performance and operational efficiency

  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and reconciliation

  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and MS Office

  • Proven ability to engage effectively with clients, negotiate complex payment terms, and resolve disputes by combining assertiveness with diplomacy

  • Experience building and maintaining client relationships including fostering trust, proactively addressing concerns, and maintaining strong communication to ensure successful outcomes

  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external business partners and senior management across regions

  • Ability to recommend improvements to AR procedures and operations

  • Experience in overseeing financial and SOX-related audits
