Job Description:

We’re looking for someone who can diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide array of electronic equipment. You’ll focus on hands-on repair work, mentoring junior staff, and leading repair projects. This role reports to the Manager, Repair Services, and collaborates closely with various departments to ensure all repairs adhere to IMAX’s quality and safety standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Diagnose and repair complex electronic systems, including circuit boards, industrial equipment, and specialized electronics.

  • Troubleshoot both analog and digital circuits, power supplies, communication systems, and embedded devices.

  • Utilize testing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators to identify faults and defects within electronic systems.

  • Partner with junior technicians to lead and mentor them, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

  • Develop effective solutions to complex repair problems and offer technical guidance for challenging repairs.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs, including test results, parts used, and time spent in our FSM/IFS database.

  • Ensure all repairs comply with IMAX’s quality standards and industry regulations.

  • Recommend improvements to repair processes, techniques, and equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in an electrical repair environment.

  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

  • Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to safety and quality in all tasks performed.

  • Knowledge and awareness of handling ESD sensitive products.
