Job Description:
Reporting to the Director, Reporting, Accounting and Tax, this position is responsible for overseeing and managing the Group's accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting functions. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, manages tax obligations.
What you will be doing:
- Lead GL team to conduct monthly, quarterly and annual closing, and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of both IFRS and PRC GAAP reporting.
- Perform B/S review, and P/L review to mitigate any potential risk.
- Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations for accounting activities.
- Review Account Reconciliation to ensure the quality for the preparation, and identify the process can be improved.
- Monitor the monthly closing process, and take the lead in resolving issues.
- Manage the annual statutory audit preparation and ensure the on time filing.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions, working closely with external auditors, tax advisors and tax bureaus.
- Prepare certain notes to the consolidated financial statements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Provide appropriate coaching and mentoring for team members.
- Assist in producing an accurate picture of the financial health of IMAX China which is then shared with our investors.
- Assist in ad hoc projects where financial support is needed.
- Other assigned tasks.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CICPA or equivalent accounting certificate
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in accounting, tax, and financial reporting roles, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment. Big 4 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Solid finance operation knowledge.
- Experience with SAP.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
- A self-starter who is able to work and think independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Chinese.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
