Job Description:

IMAX Corporation is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician for a 12-month contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and mechanical systems, with a focus on troubleshooting, problem-solving, and lab organization. This role requires proficiency in various tools and software, as well as the ability to interpret schematics and layouts.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assemble cables and perform soldering tasks.

  • Utilize electronics skills for troubleshooting and problem-solving.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with electronics and mechanical tools.

  • Interpret schematics and layouts for electronic and mechanical systems.

  • Organize and maintain the lab, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.

  • Take ownership of lab operations and responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with SAP for managing inventory and documentation.

  • Use Visio and Altium for creating and interpreting system drawings.

  • Create test jigs based on system drawings.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 years of experience in electronics or a related field (±1 year).

  • Strong skills in cable assembly, soldering, and electronics troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency with electronics and mechanical tools.

  • Ability to interpret schematics and layouts.

  • Experience with lab organization and ownership.

  • Familiarity with SAP, Visio, and Altium.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
