What You’ll Do
Marketing Architect: a person who designs marketing strategies and supervises their execution.
Hockeystick is on a mission to educate entrepreneurs on the complexities of funding. We believe that building relationships and helping people first is our mutual path to success. We are doing this with Canada’s first ever online learning funding academy. Our Marketing Architect will design an evolving content strategy for our academy, own the brand integrity, own all marketing channels and funnels, and manage a team of in-house members and vendors. It’s a big job with a laser focus. You’ll get to focus on the priorities you set, learn from peers, and move fast with the support of your teammates.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CEO and with the support from an Executive Coach, you will:
- Own and lead company and product positioning and brand integrity
- Conduct customer research with the Product team and loop learnings back into marketing messaging and strategies
- Build and execute a content strategy for Hockeystick’s fundraising guides, training, ebooks and other educational content
- Own, execute and optimize (with in-house and vendors support) growth strategies and channels, including the website, SEO, Social, SEM, email and more
- Define goals and measures of success for all marketing functions and report on them regularly to leadership
- Manage departmental budget and ROI

- Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Marketing, Business or a related field with previous work experience
- 5+ years of direct and relevant experience in B2B marketing (previous experience in SaaS company/ technology startup is a plus)
- Hands-on expertise in content marketing (eBooks, blogs, podcasts…)
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Hands-on expertise in Google Marketing Tools (Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) & Paid Social Platforms (Linkedin Ads, Facebook)
- Deep knowledge of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing)
- Experience with Email marketing tools, CRM tools (Hubspot preferred)
- Excellent time management, strong attention to details, and committed to meeting deadlines
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong creative outlook
- Strong bonus points if you have experience in financing/funding (but not required)
