Senior Product Manager
Helcim Inc.
ABOUT HELCIM
Helcim was founded with a mission at heart: to be the world’s most loved payment system. We believe that by offering small businesses in North America a decidedly human payment solution where it is easier to sign up and use while being transparent and affordable, we can empower them to grow and prosper. Simply put, helping small businesses thrive is at the very core of our business model, and we think that’s a great way to do business.
From the very start, we knew that we wanted to be different from every payment processor out there. We want the merchants we serve to feel supported and see us as a trusted partner rather than simply just another “cost of doing business.” We are relentless in our pursuit to provide a radically transparent and honest payments solution that flat out saves business owners money, all while treating them like human beings.
THE POSITION
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a key driver in shaping the roadmap and prioritizing the backlog for our merchant-facing software solutions. You will own the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring a delightful and seamless experience for merchants built upon our core payments products. This role requires a deep understanding of merchant workflows, a passion for user-centric design, and a proven ability to deliver impactful software solutions through effective roadmap and backlog management.
Here are the things you’ll own day to day:
Roadmap & Backlog Management:
- Own and champion the product roadmap for your supported area aligning it with the overall company goals and objectives and leveraging our core payments infrastructure.
- Translate merchant needs and business requirements into a prioritized backlog of features and enhancements for our merchant platform.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is constantly refined, updated, and reflects the current priorities of the team.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams (including the Core Payments team) to estimate, plan, and deliver on the roadmap.
- Ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement of our merchant platform software through effective roadmap execution.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the payments and payments space, proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate them into the roadmap.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and identify opportunities to differentiate our merchant offerings.
Execution & Optimization:
- Manage the entire product lifecycle for your area, including research, design, development, and launch of innovative solutions for our merchants.
- Oversee the implementation of product initiatives from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and successful adoption.
- Identify, build, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product performance, identify areas for optimization, and measure the success of initiatives.
- Analyze merchant behavior, conduct market research, and leverage data-driven insights to inform roadmap and backlog prioritization.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the development team and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment around the roadmap and backlog.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, providing clear and concise updates on product progress, challenges, and opportunities.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE LOOKS LIKE:
- 5+ years of relevant product management experience, with a strong focus on payment solutions.
- Deep understanding of payments workflows, merchant needs, and online business operations.
- Experience with agile development methodologies, roadmap planning tools, and backlog management systems.
- Proven ability to define and manage a product roadmap that delivers impactful solutions to merchants.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform product decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A deep empathy for users (merchants) and a customer-centric approach to product development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, computer science, engineering).
