The Communications Coordinator will support Helcim’s Marketing Team in executing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the company's public image and promote its products, services, and initiatives across traditional and digital platforms.

This role involves a variety of tasks, including media outreach, content creation, social media management, and monitoring media coverage. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail, a proactive attitude, and a passion for both public relations and social media.

Typical Duties

  • Work closely with Helcim’s Executive Team to assist in building and maintaining relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other PR materials.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press clippings for internal reporting.
  • Support the creation of compelling content for press releases, blogs, social media, and the company website.
  • Assist in the development of communication materials such as brochures, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, media outlets, and competitor activities.
  • Create, curate, and manage content for the company’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Schedule and publish posts, ensuring consistent and engaging content across all platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and respond to comments and messages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Google Office Suite including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and GChat and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior internship or experience in PR or communications is a plus.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be located in Calgary for this position.
