Position Overview

We are looking for a President, Essential Industries to lead a newly integrated business unit spanning Health, Nuclear, and IT Professional Services. This full P&L leadership role offers the opportunity to drive strategy, growth, and operational excellence across a complex, multi-service portfolio. Reporting to the CEO, you will act as both a builder and an operator—delivering results today while shaping the next phase of growth for Essential Services.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Own

  • Growth, profitability, and operational performance
  • Full P&L accountability for Essential Services
  • Leadership across Health, Nuclear, and IT Professional Services
  • Integration of teams, operating models, and go-to-market
  • Strengthening the team, working relationships and succession
  • Executive engagement with the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board

What You’ll Do

Drive Growth & Strategy

  • Set and execute a clear, multi-year strategy for Essential Services
  • Deliver organic growth and margin expansion
  • Identify and lead strategic investments and M&A opportunities
  • Strengthening market positioning across public and private sector clients
  • Lead a complex, regulated portfolio with strong operational rigor
  • Drive forecasting accuracy, performance management, and accountability
  • Ensure consistent delivery, quality, and client experience
  • Bring cohesion across business lines and enable a stronger “One Calian” approach
  • Align operating models, processes, and governance to support scale
  • Lead targeted transformation to modernize how the business runs
  • Build, align, and elevate a high-performing leadership team
  • Strengthening succession, accountability, and execution discipline
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and performance
  • Partner closely with the CEO and executive team on enterprise priorities
  • Interface with the Board on performance, strategy, and growth
  • Maintain senior client relationships and support key pursuits

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in large, complex organizations
  • Proven track record of delivering growth, operational performance, and transformation
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership of a sizable business unit or portfolio
  • Ability to lead across multiple services, business lines, or domains
  • Executive presence with experience engaging CEO and Board-level stakeholders
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including exposure to M&A
  • Builder and operator mindset, able to scale and transform while delivering results
  • Ability to create clarity in complex environments and drive execution with pace
  • Systems thinking mindset, connecting strategy, operations, and people
  • Experience in relevant sectors such as:
    • Healthcare
    • Nuclear or regulated environments
    • IT/professional services
  • Ability to lead through complexity, integration, and change
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and people leadership skills
