Position Overview

Calian Health Services is currently seeking a Certified Dental Assistant for a full-time position in the CFB Ottawa dental clinic within DND Headquarters campus off Moodie Drive. The Dental Assistant will provide dental care to military members as part of the dental healthcare delivery team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists or other dental clinicians chairside in performing a wide range of dental procedures to the full scope of a level II Dental Assistant
  • Take digital radiographs.
  • Perform a wide range of dental laboratory procedures including taking impressions and pouring study models.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments, equipment, and operating area.
  • Maintain dental operating area and monitor consumable supplies.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
  • Perform oral hygiene education to active CAF members.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Level II (Intra-Oral) Dental Assisting program.
  • Must be a member with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association and in good standing.
  • Must have a passed NDAEB exam
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience performing intra-oral procedures and providing clinical assistance in all disciplines of dentistry.
  • Must be a member with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association and in good standing.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) CPR Level C / AED certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must be eligible and able to obtain and maintain a Reliability level Government Security clearance.

Compensation

$30-34/hr
