Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a nonprofit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies around the world. Our mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL’s nine-month program allows deep-tech founders to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their likelihood of success.
Position Summary:
The Technical Program Delivery Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives within the “Putting AI to Work” program. The role demands a blend of technical proficiency and program management expertise, ensuring seamless coordination between technical teams, business stakeholders, and program participants. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in AI implementation, a track record of managing AI projects, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams through the technical complexities of AI deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & AI Implementation:
- Provide technical oversight during the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions.
- Offer technical mentorship to program participants, helping them navigate AI implementation challenges, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound and aligned with business objectives, tailoring recommendations to each participant’s needs.
- Stay current with AI advancements, integrating cutting-edge technologies into program frameworks.
Program Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact for participants and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements and delivery timelines.
- Lead workshops and training sessions to enhance technical understanding among program participants.
- Develop and present stakeholder-facing content, providing weekly updates on progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Facilitate collaboration among participants, industry experts, and other program stakeholders to drive success in AI project deliveries.
Project Management & Strategic Innovation:
- Oversee the project lifecycle, ensuring that AI solutions are delivered on time and meet the program’s success criteria.
- Utilize strong project management skills to handle multiple AI initiatives simultaneously, addressing both technical and business aspects.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the program, aligning AI innovation with participant goals and business outcomes.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with CDL team members to ensure cohesive program delivery.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development within the team and among participants.
- Participate in team meetings, providing insights on technical progress and operational tasks.
Core Qualifications:
- AI Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering AI projects in a technical (e.g., ML Engineer) or adjacent role (e.g., Technical Product/Program Manager), including familiarity with AI/ML tools (e.g., OpenAI GPT Builder, LangChain, SageMaker, TensorFlow).
- Program Management: Proven experience managing complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders, delivering AI solutions within enterprise environments.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor non-technical stakeholders on AI implementation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with C-suite executives and technical teams alike.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on translating business needs into effective AI solutions.
- Expertise in managing Proof of Concepts (POCs) and AI pilots within enterprise organizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
