Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a nonprofit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies around the world. Our mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL’s nine-month program allows deep-tech founders to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their likelihood of success.
Position Summary:
The AI Technical Consultant will be a key player in CDL’s “Putting AI to Work” program, responsible for supporting the technical aspects of participants’ AI implementations. This role requires a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in AI technologies, a passion for innovation, and the ability to guide and mentor teams in deploying AI solutions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Support the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions by program participants.
- Advise program participants regarding best practices for implementing AI in their business.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams working on AI projects.
- Ensure the technical feasibility and robustness of AI implementations.
AI Implementation:
- Support the end-to-end process of AI solution development, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Work closely with program participants to understand their business needs and tailor AI solutions accordingly.
- Utilize a wide array of AI tools and technologies to address diverse business challenges.
- Upkeep internal best practices and use case manual with best-in-class AI tools, solutions, and information from around the world.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with program participants, mentors, industry partners, and other stakeholders to drive successful AI projects.
- Facilitate technical workshops, seminars, and training sessions for participants and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for program participants, providing ongoing support and expertise.
- Development and delivery of stakeholder-facing content associated with the program journey on a weekly basis.
Innovation and Strategy:
- Stay up to date on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and integrate cutting-edge technologies into the program.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the program’s technical framework.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the program’s strategic plan.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless program operations and delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Participate in regular team meetings, contribute to strategic discussions, and deliver on weekly operational tasks.
Core Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience building AI-based solutions in an engineering, product management, or consulting role, with a proven track record of successful AI implementations.
- Extensive knowledge of AI tools and frameworks, including off-the-shelf GenAI solution builders (e.g., OpenAI GPT Builder, Microsoft Copilot Studio), GenAI developer tools (e.g., LangChain / LangGraph, LlamaIndex), off-the-shelf ML solution builders (SageMaker, Vertex AI, ML Studio), and ML developer tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience in management consulting or IT strategy consulting.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- Significant experience working with AI/ML and software development teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Passion for innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.
