Summary:

We are looking for a Director of Demand Generation in Toronto, Vancouver, or remotely across the US/Canada (except Quebec).

As the Director of Demand Generation, you’ll be stepping into a new role responsible for leading our North American SMB Demand Generation strategy at scale. Clio’s SMB engine has scaled to $400M of Annual Recurring Revenue, primarily driven by marketing, and we are looking for someone that has seen significant multi-segment revenue scale to play a key role in growing Clio to the next level of new customer acquisition.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a strategic, globally-minded marketer who understands the complexity of marketing-driven growth at scale.

Who you are:

You are a seasoned B2B marketing leader with a deep passion and expertise for Demand Generation. You understand the nuances of creatively reaching an audience and standing out in a crowded field of competitors. You’re fluent in multiple GTM strategies - you understand what a high velocity marketing-led B2B motion looks like, but you’ve also seen Target Account Programs drive success, as well as PLG driven growth.

You're an experienced people manager who is also comfortable being a "player-coach". You can build a powerful strategy from 30,000 feet and then dive into the details of campaign execution. You thrive on building and mentoring high-performing teams and excel at creating deep, trusted partnerships with your sales counterparts. You are a master at building strategy and know how to blend data, creativity, and technology to create world-class marketing programs that deliver significant lead volume, pipeline, and revenue.

What you’ll work on:

  • Strategy & Revenue Alignment: Develop, own, and execute a comprehensive SMB Demand Generation strategy that directly aligns with revenue targets and broader growth goals.

  • Scalable Program Development: Develop scalable programs to drive increased growth, launch new channels and initiatives, and optimize existing GTM motions to drive new logo growth.

  • Team Development & Operational Support: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, supporting the adaptation of team structures and operating models to increase execution velocity as the business scales across new verticals.

  • Performance & Budget Management: Oversee significant marketing budgets and define KPIs to report on performance and business impact to the senior leadership team.

  • Market Expansion & Narrative Evolution: Drive the growth of Clio’s market share through product expansion and translating Clio’s brand story from the Business of Law to the Practice of Law.

  • Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration: Work in lockstep with the SMB sales team, Revenue Operations, and the cross-functional Marketing Leadership Team to optimize every stage of the new customer acquisition funnel and translate complex strategy into business impact.

  • AI-Forward Innovation: Champion the use of AI within the Demand Generation team and across the marketing team, helping to adapt internal workflows and strategies to ensure Clio remains AI-forward and responsive to rapid market changes.

What you have:

  • 10+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, including 5+ years in marketing leadership roles.

  • Proven Demand Gen success in growing complex SMB go-to-market (GTM) strategies in high scale ($200M+ ARR), multi-segment, high growth organizations.

  • Strong understanding of Demand Gen nuances and GTM strategies across marketing-led, target account, and PLG motions.

  • Demonstrated success in managing high performing teams including hiring, coaching, developing, training and building a pipeline for succession.

  • Proven ability in managing large portions of budgets including negotiating and partnering with vendors.

  • Excellent ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and executive stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of the economics of the different segments to align initiatives and strategies with company objectives on CAC, LTV, and ROAS.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of translating complex GTM strategies into business impact.
