Summary:
We’re looking for a Senior Solutions Consultant, Legal Innovation to join our high-performing Solutions Engineering team. This role is designed for a former practicing lawyer who understands the daily pressures of firm life and is passionate about helping peers navigate the AI-driven disruption reshaping the industry. As a consultative partner and expert communicator, you will work alongside our Sales team to diagnose the complex business challenges facing modern law firms and translate them into technical successes. You will lead the transformation journey—from initial discovery and AI consultation to delivering high-impact demonstrations—ensuring our customers are equipped to thrive on the world’s leading legal platform.
What your team does
Our Solutions Engineering team is the “Swiss Army Knife” of Clio’s sales organization. We are a collective of technical and industry experts who partner with our Sales and Product teams to solve the most intricate challenges facing modern firms. We don’t just demo software; we serve as trusted subject matter experts, helping prospective customers bridge the gap between their current friction points and a future-ready, AI-enhanced practice.
What you’ll work on
In this role, you will leverage your legal expertise to help other professionals navigate the most significant technological shift in the industry’s history.
You will:
Act as a Strategic Advisor: Partner with Account Executives to lead discovery sessions with small and mid-sized law firms, uncovering their overarching business goals and operational bottlenecks.
Show, Don't Just Tell: Design and deliver tailored, live product demonstrations of the Clio platform that resonate with the practical "day in the life" of a legal professional. You will masterfully navigate technical, emotional, and ethical objections during these presentations, leveraging your legal background to build rapport and trust with firm partners.
Navigate the AI Frontier: Articulate Clio’s AI vision, helping firms understand how to safely adopt automation for drafting, research, document analysis, and administrative efficiency.
Architect Solutions: Convert complex technical requirements into tangible business value, demonstrating how Clio and our ecosystem of 250+ integrations solves specific practice-area needs.
Collaborate Cross-functionally: Act as the "voice of the lawyer" internally. You will translate field insights into actionable user stories for our Product and Engineering teams to influence the platform roadmap. You’ll also serve as an internal consultant for Sales, Marketing, and Enablement teams to ensure our messaging aligns with the realities of modern practice.
Scale the Expertise: Act as a mentor to the broader sales organization, leading internal training sessions to upskill peers on the nuances of legal workflows (across different practices areas and jurisdictions) and how to effectively position AI-driven solutions.
Drive Industry Change: Speak with authority on the business and ethics of legal tech, acting as a thought leader in the evolving landscape of digital practice management.
What you bring
A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree. You have spent time "in the trenches" and speak the language of law firms fluently.
2+ years of legal practice experience. You have a first-hand understanding of firm economics, document lifecycles, and client communication nuances.
A passion for legal tech. You were the "early adopter" at your previous firm, always looking to optimize workflows or implement new tools.
Exceptional communication skills. You possess high EQ and the ability to command a room of senior legal stakeholders. You are an active listener who can distill sophisticated technical concepts into clear, persuasive narratives.
Problem-solving DNA. You are naturally curious and enjoy deconstructing messy processes to build efficient, tech-driven solutions.
Familiarity with the legal stack. You have experience with or a strong interest in legal practice management (LPM), document automation, and legal research platforms.
Serious bonus points if you have:
Previous experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales, or Legal Technology implementation.
Active involvement in legal innovation communities or bar association technology committees.
A strong "AI Point of View"—you follow the latest developments in LLMs and their specific applications for legal drafting and ethics.

The expected salary range* for this role is $108,800 to $127,900 to $147,000 CAD. The expected new hire commission range for this role is $35,900 to $42,200 to $48,500 CAD. The opportunity to earn commissions beyond the stated amounts are possible as commission earnings are uncapped.*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
