Summary:
We are currently seeking a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our Payroll team. This role is available to candidates across Vancouver or Calgary.

Who you are:
Our payroll and benefits coordinator role is for someone who is detail-oriented and self-motivated. They have the responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of global payroll. Our ideal candidate has experience and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner. You will work closely with our Talent Acquisition, People Systems and Analytics, Finance and People teams to support the delivery and administration of our payroll and benefits program.
What you’ll work on:
Preparation of semi-monthly and monthly global payroll in a timely and accurate manner;
Reconcile payroll and benefits, and manage the flow of information to the general ledger to ensure costs are allocated to the correct account and cost centre;
Preparation of provincial and federal reporting and remittances (i.e. WCB, WSIB, EHT, ROEs, etc.);
Assist with year-end reconciliations and tax form preparation (T4s, T4As, T2200s, WCB, WSIB, EHT, W2s, etc.);
Monitor the payroll@clio.com and benefits@clio.com inbox and respond to internal and external payroll and benefit inquiries;
Monitor the payroll, benefits and immigration ticketing inbox and respond to internal tickets;
Draft internal employee letters for employment agreements, adjustments, immigration, etc.;
Coordinate and process information for new hires, resignations and terminations (i.e. calculations, letters, and ROE);
Support benefit plan administration through Workday;
Create and maintain operating manuals for all payroll, benefit and insurance processes;
Create and maintain operating manuals for all payroll processes
Maintain an effective and confidential filing system for all documentation relating to payroll procedures and employee files;
Preparation of documents for annual audit and other ad-hoc external payroll and tax audits;
Assist in managing and maintaining the payroll and HRIS system, as well as making recommendations to improve the scalability and efficiency of internal payroll processes;
Preparation of month-end and ad-hoc reporting.
Scan, sort and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate team members.
What you may have:
Post-secondary education in payroll, human resources, accounting, or related field with knowledge of current Canadian legislative requirements;
At least 1 year payroll administration experience in multi-province employee base
Ability to meet the deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
Strong team player, capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working towards a professional payroll designation (PCP)
Serious bonus points if you have:
Experience using and/or configuring Workday

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
