Summary:

What you’ll do:

  • Managing the administration of payroll for all company employees and executing payroll reconciliation reports and schedules in a timely and accurate manner;

  • Maintaining the payroll records in our HRIS system, as well as making recommendations to improve the scalability and efficiency of internal payroll;

  • Administering the Company’s Retirement (RRSP, 401k and Pension) programs;

  • Reviewing and ensuring custody of employee agreements and internal employee adjustments letters are secure;

  • Know and be able to assist in answering Benefit questions about extended Health and Dental plans with a good understanding of our benefit processes;

  • Managing the preparation of quarterly bonus compensation plans and calculations;

  • Reconciling payroll and managing the flow of information to the general ledger to ensure costs are allocated to the correct account and cost center;

  • Preparation of provincial and federal reporting and remittances (i.e. WCB, WSIB, EHT, ROEs, etc.);

  • Preparing year-end reconciliations and tax form preparation (T4s, T4As, Form T2200s, WCB, WSIB, EHT, W2, etc.);

  • Preparing documents for annual audit and other ad-hoc external payroll and tax audits

  • Preparing month-end and ad-hoc reporting;

  • Oversee the monitoring of the payroll@clio.com and Workday inbox and respond to internal and external payroll and benefit inquiries and tickets where needed;

  • Knowing the answers to complex payroll questions and have the tools to research for the answers;

  • Reviewing the information for new hires, resignations and terminations and ensuring it is correct (i.e. calculations, letters, and ROE);

  • Review initial setup for new hires, employee record maintenance and status changes;

  • Ensure the adjustment of wages in payroll when employees take leaves;

  • Creating and maintaining operating manuals for all payroll and insurance processes;

  • Study existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions;

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential;

  • Come to work everyday with a can-do attitude, ready to find and implement solutions to our challenges;

  • Be reliable source of knowledge and a resource for our employees and junior members of the team;

  • Create and assist with documentation and updating Standard Operating Procedures;

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;

  • Responsible for training and oversight of payroll clerks and new team members;

  • Be the first reviewer of payroll clerks work and provide corrections or feedback where needed;

  • Be dependable and independent for the processes assigned to you;

  • Ensure close attention to detail in your own work and others work that you will review.

What you may have:

  • At least 3-5 years of Payroll experience

  • Experience using Workday (preferred)

  • US or Global payroll experience (preferred)

The full salary range* for this role is $89,300 to $105,000 to $120,700 CAD.Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
