The Vice President of Product & Monetization is the general manager of Big Viking Games’ live portfolio.

You own the commercial performance, product strategy, and operational health of our games. This role blends P&L accountability, live operations mastery, and cross-functional leadership. You will balance near-term revenue optimization with long-term product and technical sustainability.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has personally run live games as a business.

Core Responsibilities

Business Ownership and Executive Leadership

  • Own full P&L responsibility across the portfolio, including revenue targets, OpEx, and margins
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Serve as the primary product and operations voice to the CEO and Board
  • Prepare and present Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), including performance trends, risks, and trade-offs
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis to inform strategy

Product Strategy and Live Operations

  • Define and maintain product strategy and long-term roadmap aligned to business goals
  • Personally oversee live ops cadence, promotional calendars, and feature prioritization
  • Direct game economy design, including wallet sizing, inflation control, currency sinks, and offer balance
  • Ensure monetization strategies maximize revenue while protecting long-term player trust and retention
  • Make clear, decisive calls when trade-offs arise between revenue, retention, and player sentiment

Monetization and Analytics

  • Own pricing strategy, offer design, segmentation, and monetization experimentation
  • Lead analytics-driven decision-making across DAU, retention, churn, ARPDAU, and LTV
  • Drive a disciplined experimentation culture using A/B testing and cohort analysis
  • Translate insights into concrete changes to live ops execution and roadmap priorities

Cross-Functional Leadership and Culture

  • Lead and develop department heads across Product, Art, Content, QA, Production, LCM, Community, and Support
  • Build a high-performance, accountable culture focused on output, quality, and learning
  • Resolve conflicts across creative, technical, and commercial priorities
  • Hire, mentor, and evaluate leaders with a bias toward ownership and results
  • Own performance management and leadership development across all reporting functions, with clear goals and measurable outcomes

Engineering Partnership and Technical Stewardship

  • Partner closely with Engineering leadership to balance feature delivery, infrastructure work, and technical debt
  • Advocate for necessary migrations and foundational investments without sacrificing business continuity
  • Make informed prioritization decisions that protect long-term platform health

Operational Efficiency and AI Enablement

  • Drive operational efficiency initiatives across content creation, QA, and production pipelines
  • Leverage AI and automation pragmatically to increase throughput, reduce costs, and shorten cycle times
  • Focus on measurable impact, not experimentation for its own sake

Player Experience and Brand Stewardship

  • Own external-facing KPIs including player satisfaction, engagement, and retention
  • Ensure Community and Player Support reinforce product strategy and brand voice
  • Oversee lifecycle management to deliver a consistent, high-quality player journey
