The Director, Field Marketing and Corporate Events is accountable for increasing awareness of 1Password’s solutions within our target buyer communities and generating pipeline across our SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments through field marketing programs and events. You will craft the strategies and oversee the execution of field marketing to source new opportunities and accelerate pipeline to close. You will be responsible for the event experiences that grip prospective customers, accelerate their purchase evaluations, and energize them as they navigate their buyer journey.
You will lead the creation and execution of targeted field events and major industry trade shows to raise the awareness of and affinity for 1Password within our target persona. You will bolster 1Password’s presence in the Enterprise by creating experiences and offers that resonate with Cybersecurity buyers and leaders. You will partner with our Executive team to lead 1Password’s presence at trade shows and to create high impact 1Password-owned executive and customer field marketing events.
You are a detail-oriented events management expert who can take the lead from start to finish to execute events of all sizes. You pride yourself on your ability to plan, manage budgets, manage vendors, align internal stakeholders, and deliver surprising and delightful experiences. You are a “last mile” event marketer who believes in seeing your hard work all the way through to engagement that translates into pipeline. This role is an individual contributor to start, with the expectation of developing into a team leader role as the volume of events increases.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of marketing experience building and leading high-performance field marketing functions in scale-up B2B SaaS companies.
- Expertise in B2B field marketing strategy and execution targeting Cybersecurity and IT decision makers.
- Hands-on experience in designing and delivering both major events and field programs at scale; an intensely capable events program manager.
- Experience orchestrating high profile events such as major trade shows or major user conferences. Experience with RSA Conference, Blackhat, or Infosec London preferred.
- Experience working with Sales leaders in SMB, Enterprise, and Customer Growth segments to develop a field marketing plan supporting the GTM strategy with events and regional programs
- Growth mindset and industry leader; Exceptional leadership and communication skills; an inspiring leader that has experience hiring, retaining, scaling, and managing a high-impact team
- Brings a systems-thinking approach to bear, troubleshoots and optimizes core activities, and can build frameworks that increase field events and tradeshow efficiency, predictably, scale.
- Strong sense of ownership to proactively identify and drive alignment through solutions in ambiguous and high-growth environments with shifting priorities.
- Ability to travel to support the hands-on execution of programs and events
What you can expect:
- Establish the field marketing strategy, objectives, and key results in conjunction with Global Campaigns and GTM leaders for the SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments that align their priorities and guide the day-to-day execution to achieve performance commitments.
- Build the field marketing function and execute the strategy for trade show sponsorships, company field events, and account-based executive experiences to raise awareness, source deals, and accelerate sales cycles in target accounts, industries, and segments.
- Scale up the field marketing capability to increase presence at priority industry events, increasing awareness of our B2B product capabilities and engaging cybersecurity, IT, and development decision maker persona across all segments to source new and expansion deals and accelerate pipeline.
- Determine the calendar of tradeshow events to participate in and choose the appropriate level of sponsorship and type of participation.
- Define the strategy for 1Password hosted events in the field and lead the design and execution of 1Password events.
- Develop the process for event design, planning, and execution in collaboration with Global Campaigns, ABM, Enablement, and GTM leadership to build and accelerate pipeline.
- Own the achievement of field marketing KPIs including field partnership and participation, pipeline generation; pipeline influence and acceleration; and average deal size and win rates.
- Develop and lead a team of Field Marketers focusing on field strategy & tactics.
- Own the field marketing and corporate events budget, and be accountable for budget forecasts and hitting budget objectives.
United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $183,000USD and $247,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package.
