Zymewire, Lumerate’s first product, is an intelligence tool designed for sales professionals in the biotech and pharma service provider space to understand what is happening in their niches. Today more than 380 pharmaceutical and biotechnology service providers around the world trust Zymewire for their sales research. Our users are located in over 50 countries around the world and their companies range in size from start-ups to billion-dollar multinationals. We are well-positioned to hire a new designer to help us extend our reach and impact even further.

What the role looks like:

You'll work closely with a User Experience Lead. You’ll be given the opportunity to reshape a product end to end building a scalable design system. From prototyping to designing, you’ll be ensuring the design system adoption of the UI components to help define the design language for the rest of the development team to use. Working in a startup with deep involvement in the full product development life-cycle, you’ll be an integral part of the project to overhaul the user experience and look and feel of a successful SaaS application.

What you’ll be responsible for:

-Understanding the user needs and ideating creative solutions with design thinking best practices.

-Establishing the design pattern through the Design System and setting the standard for all UI interactions.

-Working with the UX Lead and Front End development team to design User Interface components that are easy to use, clear, and consistent across the Lumerate products.

-Creating and maintaining the application-wide Design System and CSS to control the look and feel of the product.

-Collaborating with front-end developers to ensure the Design System adoption by integrating HTML, CSS, or Design Tokens with the Lumerate web application.

-Working with the Product Manager, UX Lead, and Front End developers to contribute to redesigning a SaaS product while making it scalable for the future.

Who will be successful in this role?‍

-A graduate of Computer Science/Design or a relevant technical field that thinks about the user experience, and looking to create elegant solutions.

-Someone who empathizes user needs with deep understanding of the Design Process.

-Someone who has a strong understanding of Web & Mobile design standards.

-Someone who is very comfortable designing in Figma and translating the design into HTML and CSS. [Nice to have the experience of Figma Design Tokens]

-Someone who can adapt to new technologies quickly and implement them to make work more efficient for themselves and the team.

-Someone with a strong understanding of front-end code translation and maintenance.

-Someone who values outcomes through design over flashy outputs.

-Someone who is very detail-oriented. [So you’ll notice that we’d like you to mention ‘Matrix’ in your cover letter].

-Someone who has excellent communication skills and collaborates well with a cross functional team to craft the overall vision.

What we’d love to see in your work history:

-An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.

-3+ years of experience in designing and developing web application interfaces.

-Experience with conceptualizing and designing interfaces for complex web and mobile applications.

-Proficiency in HTML and CSS.

-A portfolio of work showcasing end to end product development from Design to Front-end implementation or showcasing expertise in creating and maintaining design systems that are scalable, usable, and consistent.

Location:

Remote, aligned with EST timezone.

Salary:

- 70-80K CAD annually.
