zipBoard is a fast-growing SaaS platform helping construction, design, and learning teams collaborate better on documents, submittals, and content reviews. Our customers include engineering firms, EPCs, architects, and eLearning providers. We’re scaling quickly in North America, and we’re looking for someone who can open doors with the right decision-makers.
This is an ideal role for someone who’s worked in construction or design and is ready to move into tech sales - or an SDR who wants to specialize in the AEC / ConTech industry.
The Role
As our Sales Development Representative (SDR), your primary goal is to generate pipeline by setting qualified appointments. You’ll reach out to project managers, design tech leaders, and executives at GCs, EPCs, and design firms. You might also support event strategy by pre-booking meetings and traveling with our CEO to major construction and design conferences.
This is a career-path role: top performers will grow into Account Executive role as zipBoard expands.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect into construction, EPC, and design firms through cold calls, LinkedIn outreach, and email.
- Qualify leads and set meetings for the CEO and future AEs.
- Build prospect lists and track activity in our CRM.
- Support conference/event strategy:
- Research attendees, pre-book meetings, and follow up on leads.
- Travel (1–2 events per year) to represent zipBoard in person.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure outreach aligns with case studies, campaigns, and content.
- Provide feedback from the field to help shape messaging and product-market fit.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years in SDR/BDR or construction project roles (APM, Project Engineer, Estimator, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and confidence on the phone.
- Grit and persistence - you’re energized by outreach and don’t shy away from rejection.
- Interest in SaaS/construction technology and eagerness to grow in sales.
- Willingness to travel across North America for industry conferences.
Nice to Have
- Prior SaaS or construction tech sales experience.
- Familiarity with tools like Procore, BIM, SharePoint, or Bluebeam.
Compensation
Base + Variable Compensation: Aggressive commission model for appointment setting.
Bonuses for exceeding quota & for event-based pre-bookings.
