Zensurance is growing at a rapid pace and that means our Insurance Analytics team is growing too! The insurance analytics team plays a critical role in making key business decisions to meet our company objectives. We are looking for the Insurance Analytics Manager who will own a subset of the insurance offerings on the Zensurance website.
You will work closely with internal teams including Top-level management (CEO and COO), Broking, Underwriting (portfolio and operational), Product Managers and Back-End Developers to implement features and new insurance products on the website.
You will leverage our data through tools such as Salesforce and Looker to help identify customer needs and areas of opportunity to optimize the insurance programs they own, as well as the question sets they oversee. The ultimate objective for this individual is to support Zensurance in reaching its overall GWP targets and increase the number of users that qualify for an insurance quote online in a risk-aware manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Entirely own the performance, reporting and continuous improvement of your assigned insurance products.
  • Demonstrate proactive efforts to ensure your products are always performing as best as they can, balancing profitability and growth, and taking a risk-aware approach to making decisions.
  • Regular Reporting and Analytics utilizing Looker, Salesforce, and Excel to build insurance team-related reports on a monthly, quarterly & as-needed basis that consist of Product & Growth Analysis, Renewal Retention, Profitability and Claims, Exceptions Analysis, Industry Trends and Pricing Analysis.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Underwriting team to improve our insurance product offerings.
  • Work closely with the internal operational underwriting, broking, engineering and product management teams to communicate any changes or improvements to be made.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in an analytical field of study e.g. Business, Actuarial, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of commercial or specialty Insurance lines experience including Technical Underwriting Experience.
  • Experience in showcasing strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive working knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Services or Google Docs suite (including word, powerpoint, etc.).
  • Experience in showcasing learning, coaching and embracing an active and collaborative team dynamic.
  • Experience in showcasing an ownership mindset and self-drive to create business value.
  • Ability to change priorities and work in an agile, project-based environment.
  • Effective communication skills to be able to work with external and internal stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • E&O insurance knowledge.
  • CIP / CRM Designations.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian / Lloyds Insurance Marketplace.
  • Working knowledge of analytics-based software (e.g., Looker, Amplitude, Salesforce reporting, Zendesk reporting.
  • Working knowledge of product management software (e.g., Confluence and Jira).
