About the role:

As the Senior Manager of Product Design at ZayZoon, you’ll guide and grow our Product Design team while staying hands-on in the work that matters most - building intuitive, human-centered experiences that help people access their pay with confidence. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Product Marketing to own the end-to-end design process, from discovery and research to polished UI, while establishing scalable systems and workflows that help us move fast and thoughtfully. This role blends strong people leadership with deep craft, championing user empathy, experimentation, and continuous improvement as we scale products that make a real impact in people’s lives. You’ll have real ownership, real impact, and the chance to shape both a product and a team as they grow. Your impact:

• Lead and mentor the growing and evolving Product Design team across several product portfolios, providing direction, feedback, and structure to ensure high-quality design output across all product surfaces.

• Foster an empathetic and psychologically safe team environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and professional growth.

• Directly contribute to the implementation and optimization process as a hands-on team member, ready to roll up your sleeves and work within the product.

• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to deliver user-centric experiences that drive customer activation, engagement, usage, and satisfaction.

• Own end-to-end design processes, from discovery and user research through conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and final UI execution.

• Establish scalable design systems, documentation, and workflows that increase design velocity and cross-team consistency.

• Champion user empathy and usability standards, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions and drive continuous UX improvement.

You bring:

• 8+ years of experience in UX and product design for web and mobile products, with 3+ years of direct people leadership experience.

• Proficiency in our tool stack (Figma, Fullstory, Miro) or similar.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.

• Solid understanding of user research methodologies and usability testing.

• Experience working in an agile development environment, collaborating across disciplines.

A quick note on compensation:
We care a lot about employee experience and pay is a big part of that. We’re currently on a journey toward internal pay transparency, with that work wrapping up by the end of Q1. We’re focused on doing this thoughtfully, starting with the people who make ZayZoon what it is. Being more transparent with folks outside the company than with our own team wouldn’t feel right so we’re intentionally completing this important internal work first.
