The Growth Data Science team partners closely with Wealthsimple’s growth functions (Marketing, Sales, Growth Product) to deliver data-driven solutions that drive client acquisition, net deposits, and consolidation. Our data scientists own end-to-end data solutions including data modelling, reporting, experimentation, statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and machine learning.
The Senior Manager, Data Science will be leading the Client Journey Data Science team consisting of Sales Data Science and Growth Product Data Science. The Sales Data Science team is responsible for equipping our sales teams with tools and insights to drive lead conversion. Some example projects include Lead Scoring, Lead Routing, Attribution Models, and build CRM pipelines. The Growth Product Data Science team is responsible for building data-driven solutions that power our in-app experience to drive conversion, cross-sell and consolidation. Some example projects include Next Best Action modelling, Personalized Offers, and in-app marketing campaigns.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to
- Partner with Commercial, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, and Growth Product teams to identify and build data science solutions that drive client conversion, engagement and consolidation, while helping our clients build wealth.
- Build our vision of what a data-powered client journey looks like, including how we leverage personalization or segmentation to convert, engage, and build deeper relationships with clients.
- Drive a data-first understanding within the organization of the client journey, from Lead to Retention, to help inform our Acquisition, Loyalty and Retention strategies.
- Work with your teams to develop end-to-end portfolios of data tools, including pipelines and data models, metrics, experimentation, reporting solutions, statistical models and machine learning models.
- Lead two data science teams in executing solution development. Establish roadmaps, team structures and processes, and best-in-class data team practices to deliver high quality data outputs.
- Elevate the role of data teams in the organization by bringing visibility to our work through roadshows, sharing data insights, and driving adoption of data-driven solutions.
What you’ll bring
- At least 5 years of experience managing multiple data science teams, including managing managers.
- At least 8-10 years of experience leading technical data science initiatives, including data modelling/architecture, experimentation, reporting & analytics, and predictive / prescriptive modelling.
- Demonstrated experience of driving business outcomes with data (revenue growth, client acquisition/conversion, retention).
- Strong business acumen and experience in client acquisition, growth and loyalty.
- Excellent SQL and Python skills and ability to work with popular data science frameworks, including numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn.
