About the Team
As an Associate, you will join our Crypto Operations team to help deliver frictionless, reliable, accurate, and timely client experiences across an expansive set of products & features. Our Crypto Operations team is a part of the Wealthsimple Brokerage Operations business unit that provides the back-end technology, operations, and platform that powers our key Wealthsimple products. It continues to expand to deliver a wider breadth of financial services to our clients and supports the broader organization in operationalizing key priorities. We are always striving to deliver best-in-class operations for the products we support.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping and refining the key processes that drive our Crypto product. From ideation to execution, you’ll lead impactful projects while working hand-in-hand with Crypto Ops management, team members, and cross-functional partners in Finance, Data & Reconciliation, Compliance, and Engineering. Your collaboration will ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement across the board.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Foster accountability and ensure accuracy by preparing reconciliations, investigating variances, and documenting their resolution.
- Take ownership of process excellence by identifying and initiating proactive improvements to our reconciliation workflows.
- Drive collaborative problem-solving with Finance, Data & Reconciliation teams to address deviations between expected outcomes and actual results.
- Champion impactful project outcomes by independently owning problem-solving for distinct Crypto Product Ops initiatives and engaging leadership and stakeholders to move solutions forward.
- Ensure seamless communication and alignment across internal stakeholders, external vendors, regulators, and auditors.
- Cultivate expertise and elevate team knowledge by becoming a subject matter expert and supporting associates, specialists, and partners to level up collectively.
- Find opportunities to strengthen our internal controls, reduce any weaknesses/risks, and help scale processes within our product operations team.
- Collaborate with external teams to ensure our key processes & controls are supporting our stakeholders and their deliverables.
- Work closely with our Compliance & Finance teams to ensure our processes, controls, and reporting are adhering to regulatory standards (i.e CIRO, OSC).

What you’ll bring:
- Relevant work experience: 2+ years of demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment preferably in brokerage operations, Fintech, Crypto, Financial Institutions or other operations roles in related fields

- Communication - Communicates openly and transparently, simplifying complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including engineering, finance, operational teams, and executives.
- Honesty and Integrity - Doesn't cut corners. Does what is right, even if not the most expedient solution
Nice to have's:
- Crypto experience is a plus, but curiosity and a willingness to learn matter most!
- Proficiency in SQL, General Ledgers, and Reconciliations is highly valued. Familiarity with other systems or the ability to craft queries and develop simple automations is an added advantage.
