About the team:
The Fraud Investigations team is part of Wealthsimple’s Security & Risk CXO Group which falls under the Client Experience Operations team. Wealthsimple’s Security & Risk Group encompasses both investigations and operational aspects of fraud: prevention, detection, investigation and client experience. The team plays a crucial role in safeguarding our clients and maintaining trust in Wealthsimple’s services.
About the role:
The Team Lead will be responsible for providing first-line supervision of Investigators to mitigate risks at Wealthsimple. The Team Lead is a financial crime expert that is focused on the client, and owns overall development and improvement of the Fraud Investigations team. The Team Lead also coordinates and assists with quality control, on-boarding, and the delivery and development of new hire training.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Oversee the day to day production of the Fraud Investigations team, with ownership of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and issue resolution
- Supervise investigation quality, ensuring accurate and timely recording and reporting of incidents, team output, and trends
- Champion a high performance environment through continuous mentorship, coaching and feedback
- Provide subject matter expertise in current and emerging financial crime typologies, investigative methods, customer-oriented service, and company policies and resources
- Assist in developing and delivering training to team members and facilitating their professional development.
- Identify and implement efficiency and accuracy improvements throughout the investigation workflow and tools
- Collaborate cross- functionally with key stakeholders to identify and address new threats and vulnerabilities
Some things we consider critical for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years experience in fraud or risk operations
- 2+ years experience in a supervisory role managing people or a team
- Experience working on digital fraud investigations, credit/debit card fraud investigations & disputes, claims review, and/or EMT related fraud
- Resourceful self-starter able to thrive in fast pace environment
- Experience developing investigation policies, procedures, and training
- Confidence using and manipulating data to drive insights that help drive tangible team results. (Experience with SQL is a bonus)
