What you will be responsible for:

  • Prepare monthly accruals for tax liabilities and month-end tasks
  • Review quarterly and year-end tax provision
  • Review sales tax returns and supporting working papers
  • Review tax compliance (includes tax slips, corporate tax returns, elections and foreign reporting such as T1134 and T106) and supporting working papers
  • Review monthly intercompany charges calculation and supporting working papers
  • Calculate tax instalments and monitoring remittances to tax authorities
  • Assist with any tax transactions or reorganization
  • Assist with gathering documents to respond to correspondence from tax authorities (CRA, Revenue Quebec, IRS)
  • Assist with establishing and implementing cross platform integration and other process improvements
  • Reviewing sales tax code the vendor set-up process in the Financial Systems
  • Reviewing expenses processed by Accounts Payable and ensuring sales taxes are captured properly
  • Support for rotational program and coach accountants

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of related experience in corporate tax compliance and accounting from public practice or industry
  • CPA designation is required
  • Has completed or in the process of completing Level II CPA’s In-Depth Tax Course
  • Knowledge in US corporate tax and Canadian sales tax is an asset
  • Knowledge in financial service offering and products or experience in FinTech is an asset
  • Experience with Taxprep and Netsuite is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines for multiple deliverables
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and communicates well
