Citylitics is looking for a Business Development Intern who is driven, curious, and excited to contribute to the early stages of our customer journey.

As a Business Development Intern, you'll work closely with our Sales and Marketing teams to research and identify potential prospects, participate in outbound campaigns, and gain hands-on experience with tools like HubSpot, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Orum. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in B2B sales and understand what it takes to generate real pipeline for a high-growth SaaS company.

The position will be out of our Toronto Headquarters.

What Will You Accomplish? / How You Will Make An Immediate Impact:

  • Strategic Research & Pre-Qualification: Identify and vet 50-100 high-quality accounts based on our Ideal Client Profile using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and HubSpot.
  • CRM Management: Update and organize contacts in HubSpot, ensuring account and contact data is current, accurate, and aligned with Citylitics Groupings.
  • Outbound Engagement: Support outbound campaigns by crafting and sending tailored emails, sharing industry insights with Account Based targets, and learning the fundamentals of cold calling using Orum.
  • Shadow & Learn: Listen to Account Executive and BDR calls to gain a deeper understanding of the sales cycle, value propositions, and objection handling.
  • Mock Calling & Feedback: Participate in mock calls and peer reviews to build confidence and receive coaching from senior BDRs.
  • Reporting & Insights: Assist in generating reports on key KPIs and campaign performance using HubSpot dashboards.
  • Campaign Building: Help build prospecting lists for specific verticals or upcoming conferences, using strategic filters and criteria.
  • Collaborative Learning: Join weekly Business Development Representative team sessions on objection handling and cold calling, and participate in internal workshops with mentors like our Business Development Manager and Director of Demand Generation.
  • Discovery Meetings: Learn how to book and support the scheduling of qualified discovery meetings to pass onto Account Executives.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Eager to learn and grow in a B2B sales environment.
  • Competitive spirit - previous experience in sports, debate, clubs, or leadership roles is a big plus.
  • Interest or basic experience in cold calling or outbound prospecting is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research-savvy - can navigate LinkedIn and web searches to learn about companies and roles.
  • Tech-friendly and quick to learn platforms like HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Orum, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing tasks and goals.
  • Available to work hybrid (3-days a week) from our Downtown Toronto office.
