We’re an authentic team who bring our diverse backgrounds, ideas, experiences and cultures together to make payroll magic. Speaking of, we “pull rabbits out of hats” for thousands of small business owners across Canada who rely on our payroll software to pay their employees and process their payroll taxes. And we’re just getting started.
We’re growing and looking for more awesome people to join our merry band of misfits. We are looking for people who share our understanding that when it comes to our commitment to our customers: we mean business. Especially given that the consequences of getting payroll wrong can sometimes be dire.
If you are the kind of person who has always wanted to make a difference and be heard at work, Wagepoint will give you plenty of opportunity to do just that.
The Role at High Level:
We’re looking for a talented Director of Content and Brand Strategy who doesn’t shy away from tackling hard problems and interesting (well, most times) subjects like payroll and HR technology. As the Director of Content & Brand Strategy, you’ll shape Wagepoint’s story and lead the development of a unified content and brand strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and growth—creating high-impact content and brand experiences that resonate with Canadian small businesses and position Wagepoint as a trusted leader in our space. Team leadership and development: Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of content creators, strategists, and editors; cultivate a culture of collaboration, creativity, and brand excellence.
Content excellence and brand stewardship: Own the creation and evolution of high-quality content across formats that reflects Wagepoint’s brand voice and strengthens visual and verbal identity.
PR and thought leadership: Collaborate with PR agencies on narratives and campaigns that elevate awareness and credibility; champion thought leadership.
Data-driven decision making: Analyze performance, refine strategies from insights, and report on impact/ROI to leadership.
- Innovation and industry trends: Stay ahead of trends, tools, and formats; pilot new approaches to evolve brand and content performance.
What You Bring To The Table:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
8+ years experience in content marketing, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

Expertise in SEO, social media strategy, and multimedia content production.
Strong background in B2B marketing (SaaS/technology preferred).
Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Hands-on experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), SEO platforms, and content management systems.
Strength in: strategic leadership, brand stewardship, content expertise/storytelling, data-driven optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptability/innovation.
Bonus points if:
Master’s degree in a related field.
