JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Product Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on MicroLED hardware development. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of products from inception through to delivery, ensuring the successful execution of our cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary core engineering team, including hardware, mechanical, software, and display engineers, to drive product development and achieve our strategic goals.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product Ownership: Lead the product development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to final delivery, ensuring alignment with market requirements and business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, mechanical, software, and display engineers to ensure cohesive product design and functionality, addressing any interdisciplinary challenges that arise.
- Technical Specification Development: Define and document product specifications, requirements, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping process, conducting rigorous testing and validation to assess product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Project Management: Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of products.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address technical issues throughout the product development cycle, utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct research to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform product development and strategy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and product optimizations.
THE TOOLS NEEDED TO DO THE JOB:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in product engineering, preferably in the display or hardware development sector, with a focus on MicroLED technology.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit operations, semiconductor device physics (TFT, LED, MOS), and testing methodologies. Preferably having past experience in display pixel/drivers.
- Past microfabrication experience and a history of working closely with a fab/process team. Strong understanding of microfabrication design and process.
- Experience with cross-functional team collaboration and project management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in CAD software (GDS/layout design tools), EDA tools (Cadence) and other relevant engineering applications.
BONUS POINTS FOR HAVING THE FOLLOWING:
- Experience in semiconductor (IC or display) new product introduction.
- Experience with display testing standards, quality systems, etc.
- Statistical knowledge and expertise. DFSS or similar.
