ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Accountant based out of our St. John's office, you will be joining a small but mighty finance team helping scale our finance operations in a fast paced software environment, owning the full accounting cycle from day to day transactions through to month end close.
This is an in-office role reporting to the Finance Manager. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, maintain the general ledger, support month end and year end close, prepare financial reports, and contribute to improving the processes and systems that keep finance running smoothly as Vish grows
Responsibilities
You’ll play a key role in strengthening our financial operations and reporting accuracy across multiple entities:
- Own accounts payable workflows (invoice entry, approvals, reconciliations)
- Perform monthly bank & credit card reconciliations
- Support and execute a timely month-end close, including:
Revenue reconciliations
Journal entries & posting
Accruals & prepaid schedules
Sales tax filings (Canada-focused)
- Prepare financial statements and internal reporting summaries
- Manage intercompany transactions & consolidations
- Assist with payroll processing, benefits calculations, and deductions
- Help optimize and document financial processes as we scale
Requirements
- BComm in Accounting or Accounting Diploma
- 2 to 5 years of experience, ideally in SaaS, tech, or growth stage environments
- CPA in progress or completed
- Strong grasp of ASPE, IFRS, or GAAP
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or NetSuite and strong Excel or Sheets skills
- Solid understanding of Canadian payroll and sales tax
- Highly organized, detail driven, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
Assets
- Multi entity or multi currency experience
- Exposure to US or international tax filings
- Experience with payroll or benefits systems
- Track record of improving finance processes in scaling companies
