Director of Partnerships
Virtual Gurus
At Virtual Gurus, we’re redefining how businesses scale by connecting them with fractional back-office support through TalentPlace, our Talent-as-a-Service platform, and VGC-AI, our AI-powered receptionist solution. Our mission is rooted in creating flexible, fairly paid work opportunities for underserved communities—and we’re growing fast.
We’re looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial Director of Partnerships to expand our presence in new markets and unlock scalable revenue streams.
The Director of Partnerships is a high-impact individual contributor role with direct access to the COO and executive team—offering autonomy to build influential relationships, shape new programs, and directly contribute to the company’s trajectory.
You’re a natural relationship builder with a strong network of institutional partners, enterprise clients, franchise operators, and large tech players. Whether you’re engaging on LinkedIn, attending high-value events, or identifying high-impact accounts, you’re always thinking in terms of “one-to-many”—pursuing scalable opportunities that can create ripple effects across ecosystems.
You thrive on outbound prospecting, forging new partnerships, and anticipating what’s next. You understand how our solutions create real-world impact—both for clients and for the thousands of underserved professionals we empower to work from home through our AI and Talent-as-a-Service offerings. You’re constantly asking: How can this partner use our products? Where can we land and expand? What doors will this open next?
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic partnerships—from prospecting and deal negotiation to onboarding and activation
- Launch and manage partnership programs that generate high-quality inbound leads and co-selling opportunities
- Identify and pursue creative outbound opportunities within target industries and verticals aligned with our mission and growth goals
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers across partner organizations, driving mutual value and sustained engagement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Client Success, and Revenue teams to ensure smooth partner activation and revenue realization
- Track, analyze, and report on partnership pipeline, performance metrics, wins, and losses, delivering actionable insights to the executive team monthly
- Maintain disciplined use of our CRM (HubSpot) to manage partner activity, sales funnel progress, and revenue attribution
- Partner with Finance to support commission accuracy, budget alignment, and forecasting related to partnership-driven revenue
- Represent Virtual Gurus in ecosystem communities and events, raising brand awareness and building networks in HR tech, SaaS, and future-of-work spaces
Core Competencies & Leadership Attributes
- Strategic Thinking: Anticipates market trends, crafts long-term partnership strategies, and aligns with company vision
- Execution & Results Orientation: Bias for action, drives measurable revenue impact, and fosters a culture of accountability
- Communication & Influence: Clearly articulates ideas, tailors messaging to diverse stakeholders, and builds alignment
- Relationship Intelligence: Builds trust quickly and nurtures strong internal and external partnerships
- Integrity, Empathy & Adaptability: Acts with transparency, embraces change, and prioritizes mission-aligned decision-making
- Self-Starter Mindset: Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
How do you know if this role is for you?
- You bring 5–8+ years of experience in partnerships, channel sales, or business development, ideally in SaaS, HR tech, or digital services
- You have a proven track record of building, negotiating, and closing revenue-driving partnerships from scratch
- You’re a strategic thinker with a strong bias for execution and an outcome-focused approach
- You’re an exceptional communicator and relationship builder, able to influence at multiple levels
- You thrive in autonomous roles and fast-evolving environments
- You’re comfortable using CRM tools (preferably HubSpot) for pipeline management and reporting
- Bonus: You’ve worked with values-driven organizations or social impact missions
What’s in it for you?
- Remote-first flexibility with a values-driven, inclusive culture
- A meaningful mission creating fair work opportunities in underrepresented communities
- Opportunity to shape a critical growth function from the ground up
- Competitive salary plus commission
- Work alongside passionate leaders during an exciting scale-up phase
