Technically skilled and customer-focused Area Sales Manager to drive sales and provide application support for AMT’s Scientific Instruments (SI) portfolio, which includes Electrochemical analysis systems, Battery cyclers, and Lock-in Amplifier instruments. This role combines technical expertise with strong business development skills to identify opportunities, deliver solutions, and achieve sales targets across research, industrial, and academic markets for customers directly in the North and East region of India and through partners in Middle East.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Market Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for Scientific Instruments (SI) products in India (North and East) and Middle East regions.
- Generate leads and close sales through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing customer base.
- Technical Expertise & Customer Engagement
- Understand product features, benefits, and applications, as well as competitor offerings.
- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
- Build strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and offer tailored solutions.
- Order Management & CRM
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM (Salesforce).
- Process orders and ensure timely fulfilment in coordination with internal teams.
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance and forecasts.
- Market Intelligence & Team Collaboration
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies.
- Share market insights with the regional sales manager and team.
- Collaborate with service, applications, and marketing teams for events, workshops, and conferences.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Material Science.
- M.Sc. or BE/B.Tech in Material Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electronics preferred.
- 4–6 years in scientific instrument sales, preferably electrochemical analysis or battery testing equipment.
- Familiarity with key customers in research labs, academia, and industry.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles, impedance spectroscopy, and battery testing applications.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and provide application support.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) , and Hindi.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet aggressive targets.
- Strong time management and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
- Exposure to global sales practices and technical training.
- Knowledge of export documentation and compliance for international shipments.
- Participation in technical conferences and workshops.
COMMENTS:
- 70% travel typically required, primarily domestic, occasional international.
- Ability to work within a matrix organization, apart from headquarters and support staff, requires a highly motivated, self-starter.
