Veriday is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager to join our dynamic team as a full-time employee. As a leading Liferay Portal Solution provider, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceeding customer expectations. The Development Manager will play a crucial role in scoping projects, managing relationships, planning projects, overseeing quality assurance, and leading teams to ensure successful project delivery.

What you will do:-

Scoping Projects:

• Scope and assess both large and small projects, working closely with internal teams and third-party partners.
• Respond to requests for proposals and analyze project deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
• Create project scope and milestones for multiple initiatives.

Managing Relationships:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in the organization and third-party partners.
• Manage expectations and openly communicate project progress and updates.
• Address customer concerns related to products and services rendered.

Planning Projects and Controlling Processes:

• Establish clear processes to keep teams focused and ensure timely project delivery.
• Implement appropriate project management methodologies, such as agile processes.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and take necessary actions to mitigate them.

Overseeing Quality Assurance and Managing Automated Testing:

• Supervise quality assurance testing processes to ensure high-quality products and services.
• Coordinate with testing teams, both within the project and in separate departments, for effective task delegation and tracking.

Managing Teams:

• Provide strong leadership to development teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Recruit, train, and manage team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills for project success.
• Conduct performance management activities, including coaching and mentoring, to maximize team performance.

Communicating with Senior Leaders:

• Maintain regular and effective communication with senior leaders, keeping them informed of project status, milestones, and challenges.
• Proactively address any changes in established milestones and collaborate on solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field with 15+ years of experience in the IT Industry
• Solid software development background, Java or Liferay preferred.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Experience in designing software architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for people management and mentorship.
