As a Senior Software Developer on The Data Import Framework and Scalability Team, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining Nasdaq Verafin's big data infrastructure that powers the fight against financial crime. You'll design scalable data processing solutions, ensure pipeline reliability, and work alongside talented teams to advance our data architecture and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop features, optimizations, and solutions for complex data platform challenges.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data using big data technologies.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness throughout the pipeline lifecycle.
  • Monitor data performance and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver on project requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of coding practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of software development experience building data pipelines and processing large-scale data from multiple sources.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java with experience in automated testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies such as EMR, Apache Spark, or distributed computing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience building production systems in AWS cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational database technologies, data extraction, transformation, and integration.

This position will be located in St. Johns or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
