Nasdaq London is currently seeking a Head of Index New Product – EMEA. This person will be responsible for leading the development of new indexes that will be benchmarks for financial products such as Exchange Traded Products (ETPs). The manager’s main responsibility will be leading client engagement throughout the product development life cycle, from ideation to index launch.

This will entail managing the development of index rebalance and reconstitution models, the back testing of those models, and the creation of client-facing analysis based on the results of that testing, as well as collaborating with internal partners across as sales and operations to ensure a successful and timely launch index launch. In the case of an internally developed index idea, the manager will be responsible for identifying and pitching a specific client for whom the index is a strategic fit, based on an assessment of each client’s product portfolio, strategy, and position in the market.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the development of indexes for benchmarking and replication via investment vehicles such as ETPs and structured products.
  • Lead client engagement throughout the product development lifecycle, including the creation of backtests and associated analysis, and coordinating with internal partners to ensure a successful and timely index launch.
  • Identify specific clients to pitch internally developed index ideas based on client needs, product fit, and market opportunity.
  • Develop client-facing collateral to pitch new product ideas.
  • Consolidate customer requests from the sales team to evaluate inbound product opportunities.

Other responsibilities:

  • Assist the research team in crafting research content to support the marketing and educational efforts for newly launched indexes and associated investment vehicles.

What We Expect:

  • Proven experience in the development of indexes and/or rules-based investment products such as UCITS and ETC's
  • Strong writing and analytical skills with sharp attention to detail.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with knowledge of SQL, R, Python, and Databricks.
  • Experience utilizing Tableau or similar data visualization tools to create compelling content that enhances product pitching efforts.
  • Experience with the creation of ESG indexes and/or rules-based investment products (preferred).
