Verafin - Cloud Systems Administrator

As a Systems Administrator, you will have the chance to work on various challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of the supporting infrastructure, utilizing a number of different AWS services hosting the Verafin application and our internal development. Additionally, you will get the opportunity to manage other third-party services. The main responsibility of the systems administrator and operations team is to ensure our application is consistently available and performant for our customers. Role Responsibilities
Monitoring system performance while troubleshooting issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance
Collaborating with internal development teams to support and maintain backend infrastructure
Performing configuration updates and maintenance activities to patch, secure, and maintain systems
Responding to and analyzing issues that affect system performance to minimize downtime
Monitoring and maintaining an enterprise level server management environment
Creating and updating documentation for common issues and processes to ensure process improvements
Supporting occasional after-hours maintenance
Learning and researching the various third-party tools utilized by the team
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Graduate of a technical college program
2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position
Experience performing system administration tasks - installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, and patching
Experience administrating Linux distributions
Experience using Terraform
Experience using Chef would be an asset
Experience running systems using AWS
Experience with virtualization, and network administration
Knowledge of Java, Python and Bash would be an asset
AWS certifications would be an asset
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Successfully blending systems administration and development to architect solutions in AWS
Understanding Verafin's cloud infrastructure and the various AWS services that support it

Become the lead or the subject matter expert of your current team
Pursue other opportunities within Verafin (development and / or architect)
Provide guidance and direction by mentoring new members of your team
Potential automation of manual tasks
This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (2 days a week in office), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
