Position Profile

Reporting to the Director, Programs, the Alumni Relations Coordinator will work closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective engagement for Alumni, while ensuring an exceptional experience for all of our startups.

Responsibilities

The Alumni Relations Coordinator will work collaboratively across the organization to deliver on ventureLAB’s strategic objectives, and Founder Success team-specific goals and targets.

  1. Alumni Relations Management
    1. Coordinate and manage the Alumni engagements, including sharing opportunity, onboarding founders to alumni and hosting workshops/ events.
    2. Manage alumni engagement schedules, ensuring timely delivery of sessions, workshops, and events.
    3. Provide administrative and operational support required to ensure the efficient and effective management of Alumni relations..
  2. Startup Support
    1. Facilitate a smooth onboarding experience for alumni..
    2. Provide ongoing support and resources to alumni on an ongoing basis.
    3. Facilitate workshops and other programmatic activities including events and curate educational content and opportunities available to technology entrepreneurs for our various newsletters and and across other platforms for our global founder community.
  3. Outreach and Event Coordination
    1. Proactively engage promising Alumni startups for their participation in various sessions.
    2. Plan and execute alumni-related events, including workshops, demo days, networking events, etc.
    3. Manage event logistics, including registration, attendance tracking, and post-event follow-ups.
    4. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, mentors, and other stakeholders to support Alumni.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement
    1. Working closely with all the departments to help document, monitor, and ensure accountability of Alumni companies in achieving their key milestones.
    2. Working closely with the Marketing team to identify and communicate success stories, trends and new developments.
    3. Engage in extensive ecosystem networking to identify and engage potential partners, and other relevant associations with the aim of fostering collaborations and driving impact and outcomes for our Alumni companies.

  1. Operations
    1. Maintain Alumni relations documentation, including participant files, materials, and reports.
    2. Ensure all the metrics and records are accurately updated within Salesforce on a timely basis, and that relevant reports and Alumni program dashboards are created to measure impact and provide valuable insights to management and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree in public administration, business, entrepreneurship, or a related field, with 2-3 years of related program development, stakeholder relations and/or venture management experience
  • Superior project and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with startup and investment ecosystem
  • Demonstrates great interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail while possessing the ability to prioritize effectively and handle competing priorities
  • Strong service mentality and a great team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Eventbrite, Zoom, or Asana is an asset
  • Experience working with start-ups is an asset
