The Events Intern will support the Director of Events and Sponsorships with the planning, marketing and onsite execution of ventureLAB events and engagements.
Responsibilities
- Provide support required to ensure the efficient and effective planning of events
- Provide marketing support required to promote and deliver messaging of events
- Assist in the execution of events and workshops aimed at helping entrepreneurs, stakeholders and the broader ecosystem
- Assist in the execution of internal staff meetings and events
- Support in the planning, marketing and execution of ventureLAB’s annual HardTech Summit
- Work cross-departmentally to offer support in event planning & marketing
- other duties as required
- **Some travel may be required
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution program in event management or a related-field with 1-2 years of related business experience, preferably in a not-for-profit or government organization
- Event planning and/or Project management experience
- Marketing experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, G-Suite and Salesforce
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Demonstrates great interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a hands-on self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Strong service mentality, and a great team player
- Experience working with start-ups is an asset
Canada Summer Jobs Program Criteria:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Hourly rate: $18/hour.
