Job Description

The mission of the Design Manager is to cultivate a thriving design culture that champions people, processes, and craft, ensuring that human-centric product development remains a core priority in our business decisions. You will mentor designers, foster a culture of collaboration, and drive the design team to deliver exceptional user experiences that align with Vendasta’s business strategy.

The Impact You’ll Have

Leadership & Mentorship:

• Provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to the product design team.
• Build and maintain frameworks for career advancement and develop bespoke progression plans for individual contributors.
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages growth, learning, and continuous improvement.

Design Operations:

• Streamline workflows, optimize design tools and processes, and enhance cross-functional collaboration across teams.
• Monitor R&D processes to drive efficiency and implement design best practices.
• Lead the development and scaling of design systems to ensure consistency across products.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Facilitate workshops, conduct interviews, and lead sessions to promote alignment and clarity across teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to manage risk, maintain alignment, and promote user-centered outcomes as key performance indicators.
• Bridge communication gaps between the design team, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to ensure clarity of vision.

Recruitment & Talent Development:

• • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new design team members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assess employee experience and inform workplace improvement initiatives

The Value You’ll Bring

• 5+ years experience in Product Design operating as an individual contributor, with an additional 2+ years experience in a management or leadership role
• Expertise in design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience recruiting, onboarding, and coaching designers
• Proficiency in agile design processes and strategies
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• A benefit mindset that values the interdependencies across people and teams
• Experience building and scaling design systems
• Experience in design operations (DesignOps): Proven ability to streamline workflows, optimize design tools and processes, and enhance collaboration across teams.
