About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax, the Finance Co-op will support month end responsibilities, year end financial statements, and internal and external reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will be a highly analytical, organized and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills who is looking to learn and grow in their career. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and seize opportunities to take ownership and increase responsibilities as the company grows. You are able to think outside of the box and you love to develop creative solutions to complex and challenging problems.
What you will do:
- Support the month-end close and reporting process
- Preparing journal entries/support and account reconciliations
- Support in financial reporting as required
- Assist with preparation of year end financial statements
- Assist in Treasury with bank reconciliation and the daily cash summary
- Assist in Accounts Receivable with the application of customer payments, sending out collection emails, responding to customer queries and documenting follow ups in Netsuite
- Assist in Tax with the preparation of tax filings
- Assist in Accounts Payable with setting up vendor invoices and payments, supplier statement reconciliations and responding to vendor queries
- Assisting with the timely, accurate and complete customer account and contract set up for new deals, expansions, and renewals; approval of service sales orders; invoice creation, review, and distribution to customers
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolving invoicing related issues and errors
- Other duties as assigned
Does this sound like you?:
- Passionate about learning and growing in the technology industry.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to provide leadership and project accountability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships both among internal and industry peers to keep abreast of current issues within the industry
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and experience working with accounting software (i.e. NetSuite, Expensify).
- Working towards the completion of an Accounting designation.
