About Us

Upside Robotics is on a mission to make farming more sustainable and efficient using "Physical AI." We build autonomous, solar-powered robots that navigate cornfields to apply fertilizer with surgical precision. By delivering nutrients directly to the root exactly when the plant needs them, we help farmers reduce fertilizer waste by up to 70% and cut costs by $150 per acre.

With a $7.5M Seed round closed and a waitlist of over 200 farms, we are ready to dominate the Canadian market. We are an "agronomy-first" company solving one of the world's biggest environmental and economic challenges.

About the Role

Upside Robotics is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of our production, inventory, purchasing, and field service operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized, hands-on leader who enjoys building processes, solving problems, and helping teams succeed in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will play a key role in developing the systems and operational discipline needed to scale efficiently while maintaining the agility and customer focus that define our culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across inventory, production, purchasing, and field service teams.
  • Develop and implement processes that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure material availability to support production and field operations.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities and help manage supplier relationships.
  • Support production planning and scheduling to meet customer commitments.
  • Lead and coach field technicians and operational staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Track operational metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering and leadership teams to support product launches, process improvements, and company growth.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and remove roadblocks that impact execution.
  • What We're Looking For

You are a supportive leader who enjoys helping teams perform at their best. You bring order to complex situations, adapt quickly as priorities evolve, and are energized by the challenge of scaling operations in a growing robotics company. You aren't looking to maintain existing systems. You enjoy building them.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related role within a technology company.
  • Experience in robotics, automation, hardware, or advanced manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and improve processes and systems.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Comfortable balancing planning with hands-on execution in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary: Competitive salary
  • Healthcare: Comprehensive coverage through Alan Health.
  • Vacation: Unlimited. We prioritize your results and "wins" over hours in the office.
  • The Mission: Help lead the charge in bringing autonomous, sustainable farming to the forefront of Canadian agriculture.
