Job Description

Support the HR Mauritius department in various administrative payroll tasks and day-to-day activities in accordance with the HR Service Centre standards and SLAs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand the HR Information System (HRIS), namely how to navigate to employee profiles, record changes and verify/extract data for payroll.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly payroll files (in Excel format) within agreed timelines to ensure exactness and promptness of payroll data.

  • Manage employee benefits records, including any paperwork, and enrol changes in the monthly payroll file. Escalate any complex benefits issues to the People Operations Manager.

  • Ensure the exactness of data entered into any HR system at all times, including compensation information, and report any anomaly to the People Operations Manager accordingly.

  • Carry out periodic audits of payroll/benefits data, and recommend additional controls if applicable.

  • Remain up-to-date with regards to any legal change impacting employees’ remuneration/taxation, or internal changes relating to benefits.

  • Handle L1 queries from employees with regard to payroll and benefits, and escalate L2 issues to the People Operations Manager.

  • Uphold, at all times, confidentiality and integrity with regard to employee information.

Additional Responsibilities (after completing Core Responsibilities)

  • Processing Global administrative tasks as well as assigned JIRA tickets while meeting/exceeding all Service-Level-Agreements (in terms of quality and turnaround time) and emphasizing good customer-relationship-management.

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders/new starters by email, slack or phone call for any complementary information.

  • Support and coordinate the administrative part of the onboarding process for new starters, including but not limited to enrolling benefits, updating newcomer files for payroll, etc.

  • Escalate issues to the People Operations Manager if unable to reach a resolution autonomously.

  • Contribute to the definition/improvement of standard operating procedures and nurturing a knowledge-sharing environment with the aim of achieving service excellence.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures (Confidentiality, GDPR, ISMS, etc.) and local regulations.

  • Any other tasks assigned by the People Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • HSC Holder

  • At minimum 2 years of experience in HR administration and/or operations, with a strong emphasis on administrative payroll tasks using Excel.

  • Ability to work under pressure, on multiple tasks, and within strict deadlines.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through

  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and over the phone

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on customer satisfaction

  • Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times

  • Autonomous, methodological and solution-oriented

  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal); French is a plus.
