We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Person to join our team.

Job description:

The Senior Maintenance has the primary responsibility for River City Centre’s building systems to ensure a safe, functional and comfortable environment. This position is responsible for the day-to-day inspections, operations, maintenance and safety of the property in addition to providing basic security at the site. The Senior Building Operator will provide timely, reliable and courteous customer service and response to tenants’ concerns and need, and ensure that the tenants, other building occupants and visitors can conduct their business in a clean, comfortable and secure environment.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience, including monitoring building automation systems, performing general maintenance and repairs and complying with safety requirements

· Direct experience in tasks common to building maintenance including basic plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems

· Customer service focus, and a professional and approachable demeanor

· A high degree of initiative and integrity and ability to work independently

· Critical thinking and problem solving for appropriately resolving issues and concerns

· MS Office Word and Excel (Basic to Intermediate)

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Requirements:

· Able to work daytime, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts as needed

· Available for on-call duties on a rotating basis with other staff

· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

· Criminal record check

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and reviews of all physical aspects of the property and identify maintenance and security requirements for the property
  • Perform routine and general maintenance tasks such as changing filters, drywall repairs, changing lights, minor plumbing, and carpentry work and site inspections
  • Provide security surveillance for the property
  • Respond promptly to tenant concerns and questions
  • Supervise and mentor the junior maintenance staff
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documenting maintenance / security activities and schedules and for reporting
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure facilities are well-maintained
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with colleagues and supervisors
