Role Summary

Working as part of the YPCE Operations team, the Operations Coordinator – Facilities & Technology supports the smooth operation of the organization’s facilities services and technology systems. This role helps maintain all of our locations' facilities concerns, while providing hands-on support with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and IT resources that contribute to organisational growth and efficiency.

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Location: 15203 Yonge Street, Aurora, ON L4G 1L8 ** this is an on-site position **
  • Salary based on qualifications and experience
  • Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm)

Duties and Responsibilities

70% – Facilities Support

  • Deliver a consistent and efficient service across multiple sites and assist with maintenance scheduling and upkeep of all administrative-related tasks
  • Ensure the optimal operation of all locations by complying with all applicable legislation, regulations, standards and other requirements
  • Respond to emergencies or other urgent issues involving the facility-related matters and/or IT infrastructure
  • Carry out multiple projects simultaneously for multiple locations

30% – Technology Assistance

  • Serve as the first point of contact for end-users to provide hands-on troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot PC and mobile device issues, including common OS, malware and security issues
  • Provide technical support to multi-sites, events and special projects

Collaboration and Documentation

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical or operational solutions
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of workflows, processes, and instructions
  • Support in audits and controls by maintaining and updating records regularly
  • Perform various administrative functions, including budgeting, contracts, equipment acquisition, vendor payments and conflict resolution
  • Identify areas where improvements can be made in the organization, and contribute to innovation in operational processes

Knowledge Requirements – Basic Level

  • Facilities management
  • Networking (switches, routers, etc.)
  • Operating System (Windows 11, Windows Server) and MS Office 365 admin console
  • Mobile Devices (Android and iOS)
  • IT Security (current security risks and anti-virus programs)
  • Proficiency in personal computer technology and peripherals
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, FileZilla, and WordPress, various application software, software images and recovery procedures

Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a relevant position, preferably in a technical support and facilities management environment
  • Ability to work independently and no supervision
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Strong project management, communication skills and attention to detail are assets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in a positive and competent manner
  • A self-starter capable of taking on tasks and prioritizing assignments with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism to include the ability to use discretion and confidentiality

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of objects up to 30lbs
  • Occasional travel to YPCE sites for inspection, maintenance and emergency as required
